Try Level 1 with your team: a decision guide

Use this guide to evaluate whether the foundations course fits your staff and the people they support before purchasing. Confirm trial access before planning a group review.

1. Set up a small review

The product page describes a seven-day trial covering the first two sessions. Ask Special Learning whether trial access is available to multiple staff before scheduling them. A supervisor can evaluate the course if trial access is available. Record observations on paper; this page has no form submission.

2. Discuss what you saw

  1. Could the learner access the trial and follow the session? What support would they need?
  2. Are the examples relevant to the people and settings your staff support? The course draws largely on work with young children in classrooms and homes.
  3. Does the material fit your staff’s existing experience and your supervisor’s instruction?
  4. Can each learner make time for nine sessions, each session’s pre-test and post-test, and the final exam within their access period?
  5. Which required role-specific training must your agency arrange separately?

Notes:

3. Check the limits before deciding

Level 1 does not meet state-mandated training, qualify anyone to practise ABA, or provide the 40-hour RBT training, RBT certification, or continuing-education credit. It does not cover restraint, restrictive procedures, crisis intervention, trauma-informed care or adult services.

Session 1 presents information from 2012; since 2013, the DSM-5 has classified autism under one diagnosis, autism spectrum disorder. Use current clinical guidance and your organization’s policies alongside the course.

For groups of ten or more, the course is $99 per learner, paid once; purchased access lasts 10 weeks from the day each access code is activated. Estimate your team’s course price.
