What we collect when you open the Funding Finder, why, and what you can do about it. Last updated 10 September 2026.
Special Learning, Inc., a Delaware corporation, is the controller of the information you enter on the Funding Finder form. Write to us at contact@special-learning.com about anything on this page, including a request to see or delete your details.
| What | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Your full name, email address and country | To open the tool for you, and to know who the list is serving so we can keep it accurate and useful. | Our legitimate interests in running and improving a free tool that people asked us to open (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). |
| Your agreement to deadline emails, only if you tick the box | To tell you when a funding deadline moves or a new opportunity opens. | Your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). |
These are two separate things and we keep them separate on purpose. The tool opens whether or not you tick the box. Withdrawing the tick stops the emails; it does not remove your right to use the tool, and it is not the basis on which we hold your record.
We also record the date and time you submitted the form. Our web server keeps ordinary access logs, which include your network address, for security and troubleshooting; those logs are kept separately from the details above and are not used to market to you.
We keep your details while you are receiving the deadline emails, and otherwise until you ask us to delete them. Ask at contact@special-learning.com and we will delete them and tell you when it is done. We do not sell your details and we do not share them with anyone for their own marketing.
The Funding Finder lists United States government funding: federal, state, and money held by school districts. You are welcome to it wherever you are, but most of what is on it will not apply outside the United States. We ask for your country because we are asked for this outside the United States too, and we would rather know that than assume it.
